If you’re dealing with mood swings, stubborn fatigue, sleep issues, PMS that’s getting worse, or cycles that feel unpredictable—first, you’re not alone. Second, you’re not “crazy.” And third… you deserve better than being told everything is “fine” when you don’t feel fine.
At Elite Wellness and Functional Medicine in Midlothian, we help women across Ellis County and the DFW area get clearer answers with DUTCH Complete™—one of my favorite tools for getting a more complete picture of hormone patterns (not just a single-day snapshot).
Why I use DUTCH Complete (instead of basic hormone labs) 👇
Traditional hormone labs can be helpful—but they often capture a single moment in time. Hormones don’t work that way. They shift throughout the day, throughout the month, and in response to stress, sleep, nutrition, inflammation, and more.
DUTCH Complete looks at:
Estrogen + progesterone (and how your body is metabolizing them)
Androgens (like testosterone and DHEA)
Cortisol patterns (stress response)
Key metabolites that can explain symptoms when “standard numbers” aren’t telling the full story
In other words: it helps us move from “maybe” and “guessing” to a plan that’s grounded in data.
Who I typically recommend DUTCH Complete for
You may be a good fit if you’re experiencing:
PMS/PMDD symptoms that disrupt your life
Mood swings, anxiety, or irritability that seems cycle-related
Fatigue, burnout, or sleep problems
Weight changes that don’t make sense for your routine
Perimenopause symptoms (even if your cycles are still “regular”)
Acne, hair changes, or signs of androgen imbalance
“Normal labs” with persistent symptoms
So where does DUTCH Cycle Mapping fit in?
Cycle Mapping™ can be really helpful—but it’s not what I start with for most patients.
DUTCH Cycle Mapping tracks hormone patterns across your cycle (collected every other day, with a few extra samples at the end) to show how hormones rise and fall over time. That level of detail can be valuable when we’re specifically looking at timing and cycle dynamics, such as:
Fertility tracking / trying to conceive
Suspected luteal phase concerns
Persistent PMS patterns that aren’t lining up with expectations
Mid-cycle spotting or “something’s off but we can’t catch it” symptoms
When we need deeper clarity after an initial DUTCH Complete
My honest take:
For many women, DUTCH Complete is the best first step.Cycle Mapping becomes an add-on when we need more “day-by-day” insight.
What to expect if you do DUTCH testing with us
We don’t just order a test and hand you a printout.
Here’s what you can expect:
A consult to understand your symptoms, cycle history, goals, and what you’ve already tried
Testing selection (most often DUTCH Complete, sometimes Cycle Mapping depending on your needs)
A results review that actually explains what the patterns mean (in normal human language )
A personalized plan that may include targeted nutrition, lifestyle shifts, and evidence-based support tailored to your data
“My labs are normal, but I don’t feel normal.”
I hear this constantly. And yes—single-point testing can miss patterns that matter.
If you’ve been dismissed, told to “just manage stress,” or offered a one-size-fits-all answer… there may be a better next step.
Ready to get started?
If you’re in Midlothian, Ellis County, or the DFW area and want a clearer understanding of what your hormones are doing, we can help.
Contact Elite Wellness and Functional Medicine to schedule a DUTCH consultation. We’ll decide together whether DUTCH Complete is the right first step—or if Cycle Mapping makes sense for your goals.
Medical note: DUTCH testing is a functional assessment tool and not a diagnostic test. It’s used to help guide individualized care and should be interpreted alongside your history, symptoms, and other lab work when appropriate.
